The only problem is that once it's turned on, it won't turn off even when the dial is turned off, a known issue with this model. To turn it off, you have to unlatch the battery compartment for a few seconds; otherwise, wait for it to go into standby mode, which will drain the batteries excessively. It's probably easily repairable, but I've always used it this way.
