Vincent Gaudry is one of the most discreet yet highly respected producers in Sancerre. Certified in biodynamics for over a decade (Demeter), the estate remains under the radar, but is increasingly recognized by informed wine lovers for the purity and energy of its wines. Located in Sury-en-Vaux, just a few kilometers from Sancerre, the domaine is a family estate passed down through generations. Vincent Gaudry joined his father at a very young age and progressively transformed the vineyard from conventional farming to organic and biodynamic practices, following a personal conviction rooted in both experience and observation. Today, the estate covers around 11 hectares, mainly planted with Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard is worked carefully, almost like a garden, with a strong focus on soil life, natural balance and minimal intervention. In the cellar, the same philosophy applies: traditional methods, indigenous yeasts and a non-interventionist approach aimed at expressing the terroir with precision. The cuvée “Pour Vous” 2022 is produced from old vines (over 50 years old) grown on clay-limestone soils in the lieu-dit “Les Vignes Blanches”. Fermented and aged in oak barrels following traditional methods, this wine offers a distinctive and structured profile. The nose reveals ripe and generous fruit, with subtle hints of sweet spices and a slight reduction that benefits from aeration. On the palate, the texture is creamy and ample, with a core of ripe fruit bringing both depth and volume. The finish gradually reveals a fresh underlying tension, balancing richness with precision. A complex and characterful Sancerre, already enjoyable but with strong ageing potential.
