Description:
A candy bowl by Heian Chikuho, a Kyo-yaki artist. The piece features depictions of willow trees on the body and the interior. The design is inspired by the Takasegawa river, which served as a canal for transporting goods for approximately 300 years until around 1920, and is known for the willow trees planted along its banks. This vessel is designated as a candy bowl but can also be used as a compote for fruit.
Artist Profile:
A kiln of Kiyomizu-yaki based in Kyoto Prefecture. The kiln produces a wide variety of traditional Kyo-yaki items, including tea bowls and plates.
