Ohne mindestpreis - Ring - 9 Kt Roségold - antik Navette-Diamant

Whether marquise, navette or boat ring - all these names refer to a characteristic, pointed oval ring shape, which this ring also has. Already popular in the 19th century, it was worn until the Art Deco period. But why "marquise"? The story goes that the name for this shape was first used in the Rococo period. Louis XV is said to have commissioned a gemstone cutter to invent a cut that reminded him of the smile of his mistress, the beautiful and influential Marquise de Pompadour. This ring style was very popular in the Edwardian period and is probably made around 1890. The ring is a European size 60 and is made from 9 carat rose gold. The central piece measures 2.1 x 0.7cm and is made of silver and set with 8 cut diamonds and senailles (chips of diamond). Two of the stones have gone missing through the years. The gold has been tested with a laser gun. There's no other marking than an old "2" stamped in the band. Very wearable a such or repaired . Please take a good look at the photos for all details. We leave all jewellery in their original state; we leave the cleaning and polishing up to your taste. All items are checked in-house by our jeweller and gemmologist. Shipped and tracked insured from the Netherlands (within the European Union). You can expect to received your item in 5 business days or less.
