johannes wolf - Johannes Wolf. - Schreibkommode - Kirschholz, Polychromes Holz - Art-Déco Bar-Schrank 1930

This elegant circular bar cabinet, clad in matching cherry veneer on the outside, stands on three solid cherry legs. The finish is silky smooth, French polished. The top veneers feature a geometric design of orange and semicircles. All exterior surfaces are a rich cherry color. The interior surfaces are light-colored birch and reddish mahogany to better highlight the bottles, crystal glasses and silver cutlery. The cylindrical compartment is equipped with two doors with brass fittings and a manufacturer's data plate, the top is foldable, opening it reveals several storage compartments. For additional protection, the piece can be equipped with a glass top. Good condition, with patina and traces of scratches, some veneer missing in the middle of the top. Manufacturer; Activity: The company specializes in the production of high-quality furniture and custom interior design. Location: Weidenau/Sieg was an important industrial and craft center in the Siegerland region known for its tradition in metal and woodworking Style and Period: Plates of this type, made of metal (often brass) with rivets, were typical of German workshops from the early to mid-20th century (approximately 1920-1950). The furniture produced in these "Kunstwerkstatten" (art workshops) was usually handmade or in small series, emphasizing craftsmanship and durability. Furniture pieces bearing this mark are considered collector's items or authentic antiques, being appreciated for the quality of the materials (often solid wood such as oak, walnut, cherry, etc.) and for the rigorous technical execution specific to the German school of carpentry.
