Quartz watches were first introduced in 1969. Therefore, this piece was made only a few years later and is considered one of the early pioneering models. The watch is powered by the Certina 29-251 movement, which is למעשה a rebadged ESA 9180. This 7-jewel movement was among the first ESA/ETA quartz movements available on the market and was introduced in 1972, making this watch a fine example of early quartz technology. Moreover, Certina officially introduced its quartz watches at the Basel Fair in 1973. This suggests that this model is a very early production piece, likely prepared ahead of the official launch. The case is stainless steel and remains in very good condition. The silver dial is clean, and all functions, including the quick-set date, are working perfectly. The handmade leather strap is new.
