EU-based professional seller — no import taxes for EU buyers. Get your hands on this serviced vintage Seiko Seikomatic 6218-8950 from 1965. Automatic 35-jewel movement, silver sunburst dial, original plexi, guaranteed and ready to wear. Model History: The Seiko Seikomatic Ref. 6218-8971 is a high-grade automatic model from the mid-1960s, produced by Suwa Seikosha during a period when Seiko was rapidly advancing its mechanical watchmaking capabilities. Positioned above entry-level automatic lines, the Seikomatic series showcased refined finishing, robust construction, and technically advanced movements that would later influence both King Seiko and Grand Seiko development. Powered by the calibre 6218, a 35-jewel automatic movement, this model was designed with a strong emphasis on reliability and precision. It features a day-date complication with semi-quickset functionality, operated through the crown. The original dolphin medallion on the caseback highlights its “Water Proof” construction, a notable feature for the era. Specifications: • Reference: 6218-8950 • Serial number: 8N03039 • Production date: November 1965 • Movement: Seiko 6218 automatic, day/date (English) • Case: Stainless steel • Case diameter: approx. 37 mm • Lug-to-lug: approx. 42 mm • Lug width: 19 mm • Dial: Silver-white sunburst • Crystal: Original plexiglass, polished • Strap: New leather strap • Accessories: Watch only (no box or papers) Condition: The movement has been fully serviced and all functions operate correctly. The silver brushed dial is well preserved, showing a fine vertical grain with minimal aging. The surface remains clean overall, with crisp printing and well-defined applied indices. The hands are in very good condition and match the dial nicely. The stainless steel case retains sharp lines and strong geometry. There are minor signs of wear and light surface marks, consistent with careful use. The acrylic crystal has been polished and remains clear, with some fine edge marks visible under certain angles, typical for an original plexiglass. The caseback dolphin medallion is still present and clearly visible, showing only expected wear for its age. The movement has been fully serviced, and all functions operate correctly. The watch is fitted with a new leather strap and comes with a 3-month functionality guarantee. I aim to capture the condition of the watch accurately. Please make sure to review the pictures closely before bidding. The watch has been completely serviced by a professional watchmaker and tested for full functionality. The water resistance of the watch cannot be guaranteed. Shipping from Budapest, Hungary with tracking and insurance.
