Capodimonte - Figurine - Signed A. Belcari & J. Cortella - Verbundwerkstoff

This lot features two charming vintage Italian figurines, masterfully crafted in the Capodimonte style. Both pieces are made of high-quality cold-cast resin, hand-painted with intricate details, and mounted on classic circular wooden bases. Figurine 1: The Young Hurdy-Gurdy Player with Monkey Subject: A wandering street musician (troubadour) in 18th-century attire, playing a hurdy-gurdy while a small monkey rests on his shoulder. Artist/Markings: Signed on the base by the artist (appears to be J. Cortella). It also features the crowned "N" mark (Capodimonte style) on the tree stump. Height: 28 cm. Condition: The figurine shows signs of age and dust. There is a small chip/missing piece at the tip of the musical instrument's headstock. Otherwise, the colors remain vibrant. Figurine 2: Country Boy with Geese Subject: A rustic scene depicting a seated boy in cream-colored clothing interacting with two geese at his feet. Artist/Markings: Signed on the base "A. Belcari" (Aurelio Belcari). This piece does not have the "N" mark but is a well-known design from his studio. Height: 26 cm. Condition: This figurine has undergone a significant repair; the boy's head was previously broken and has been reattached (the fracture line is visible at the neck). There is also a very small chip at the tip of one goose's tail. The piece would benefit from a gentle cleaning as there is dust accumulation in the crevices. Material: Hand-painted resin, wood bases. Total Weight: 2,420 grams. Period: Second half of the 20th Century. Origin: Italy.
