Rare 1930s Ocean Liner First-Class Cabin Call Button Panel – Bakelite
Offered is an authentic maritime relic: a dual-button "Steward & Stewardess" call panel, traditionally found in first-class staterooms of mid-century transatlantic liners. Crafted with a heavy white Bakelite faceplate and colored indicator caps, this piece epitomizes the "Golden Age" of ocean travel.
These panels were once standard in the luxury suites of iconic ships like the Cunard White Star RMS Queen Mary. The red "STEWARD" button was used for general assistance, while the green "STEWARDESS" button summoned female staff for more personal needs.
Most of these original fittings were removed during ship conversions in the late 1960s, making surviving intact examples highly collectible.
