An exceptional tube preamplifier with a MM-phono stage, developed by Theta engineer Mike Moffat. Even after his renowned DAC processors, he remains a passionate tube amplifier enthusiast. The circuitry was innovative for its time, featuring no feedback, passive RIAA equalization, 6DJ8 tubes, and two linear volume controls. The build quality is excellent, with high-quality RCA jacks screwed to the rear panel. Output impedance 150 ohms. This is a rare, original 220V version for the European market. The unit was thoroughly serviced and optimized a few years ago. The power supply capacitors were upgraded, the wiring was improved, and the power switch was replaced. The tubes were replaced with six significantly superior E88CC tubes. The preamplifier is fully functional, and the potentiometers work perfectly. The unit is in very good cosmetic condition with only minor signs of wear. And most importantly, the sound is a true pleasure to listen to.
