Erosione 05 — Sculptural Vase (Edition of 10) Earthenware sculptural vase by Valentina Cojocaru. A surface shaped by layering, burning, and time. Part of the Erosione series, this piece explores material transformation through accumulation and controlled decay. Built through a coiling technique, the form is gradually constructed and then disrupted by layers of black slip and pigmented powder of chamotte, creating a crust-like texture that recalls volcanic stone or eroded terrain. Each mark is intentional yet unpredictable — a dialogue between gesture and material reaction. The result is a dense, tactile surface where color emerges from within the clay itself, rather than being applied on top. Made in terracotta earthenware with black slip and chamotte (0.5–1 mm), layered with mixtures of pigmented slips and left unglazed to preserve its raw, earthy quality. Part of a limited edition of 10 pieces. Each piece is unique. Hand signed. A contemplative object, it stands confidently as a standalone sculpture, bringing presence and depth to any space through its quiet complexity. Not watertight.
