Jurinnatsume Teekästchen mit Chrysanthemen- und Paulownia-Design von Eun (Hounsai bevorzugter Stil) - Holz, Lack - Eun / 慧雲 - Japan - Heisei Zeit (1989-heute)

Description A circular wooden tea caddy with a finely grooved sensuji surface running horizontally across the exterior. The grooves form a continuous, thread-like texture, over which chrysanthemum and paulownia motifs are applied in red lacquer. This piece follows the “Jurin-natsume,” a form associated with Hounsai, the 15th Generation Grand Master of the Urasenke school, and is executed here as a konomimono reproduction. The black lacquer ground provides a restrained field, from which the large kiri leaves and kiku blossoms emerge. When the lid is placed onto the body, both the carved grooves and the applied motifs align precisely, maintaining continuity across the surface. The interior is entirely finished in gold leaf, presenting a smooth, reflective surface that contrasts with the textured exterior. This shift becomes apparent as the lid is removed, moving from the subdued outer surface to a brighter inner space. The proportions remain compact, allowing the piece to sit naturally in the hand as a usucha-ki. Dimensions: Diameter: 8.5 cm Height: 6.5 cm Weight: 70 grams Condition: No chips, cracks or restorations. Additional Notes Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the item description. Shipping Information: All items are shipped from Japan via DHL or Japan Post, depending on the destination. Each piece is carefully packed using professional materials suitable for fine art shipping. A tracking number will be provided once the shipment has been dispatched. Shipping costs vary by item depending on the nature of the work, its size, and shipping requirements. For some pieces, shipping may be included as part of the overall service. Shipping conditions are clearly stated for each individual listing. We cannot under-declare item values or mark shipments as gifts. Import Duties & Taxes: Import duties, VAT, and any additional customs or processing fees are not included in the auction price. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer. Please check with your local customs office for details before bidding. Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.
