Antique Sèvres style porcelain portrait plaque depicting Louise de la Vallière (1644–1710), the first official mistress of King Louis XIV of France. The plaque features a finely painted portrait set against a rich celestial blue ground with gilt detailing, in the classic French Sèvres manner. Mounted within a black lacquered wooden surround with a gilded brass cover, suggesting it was originally part of a decorative object such as cabinet, or piece of furniture. Diameter: approx. 8 cm Mount : 15 cm x 12 cm There is a hand written signature on on back ,unfortunately it is impossible to read and impossible to get it photographed. The paper sticker on the back of porcelain miniature is probably an antique inventory or dealer label, common on high-quality Sèvres-style decorative arts. Condition: Good antique condition. Minor wear to the golden detail consistent with age, including light surface wear to the mount. Please see photos for details.
