Large Chinese nephrite jade donut pendant Ping An Kou –China- 21th Century On offer is a large thick white nephrite jade “donut” shaped pendant, nicely carved in the Chinese taste. At one side the pendant has a carved depiction in relief consisting of a small village, with water, tree and bamboo. At the other side a pond with 2 mandarin ducks, lotus and other flower plants. In the heart of the pendant around the hole a band with meander motifs. This striking white pendant is made of pure untreated white jade without impurities. A Valuable and rare piece, very hard to find! Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: This jade comes from inland China.
