Lomo Lubitel 166b | Zweiäugige Spiegelreflexkamera (TLR)

The Lubitel 166B, produced by the LOMO factory in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), USSR, during the 1980s, is a classic Soviet twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera that has achieved cult status among analog enthusiasts. An evolution of the earlier Lubitel models, the 166B was designed to bring medium-format photography to the masses. Constructed primarily from robust bakelite and plastic, it is celebrated for its lightweight design and the distinct, often dreamy aesthetic produced by its triplet-element glass lens. This model remains a cornerstone of the "Lomography" movement, prized for its simplicity and the large 6x6 format negatives it produces on standard 120 roll film. KEY FEATURES Classic Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) design for 6x6 medium format Geared lens coupling for manual focusing via the viewing lens Lightweight and durable bakelite body construction Integrated waist-level viewfinder with a pop-up magnifying loupe Built-in self-timer and frame counter on the side panel Standard tripod mount and neck strap lugs TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Camera Type: Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) Lens: LOMO T-22 4.5/75 (Triplet) Shutter speeds: 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 second plus Bulb (B) Aperture range: f/4.5 to f/22 Film format: 120 roll film (6x6cm format) Serial Number: 84405367 (Manufactured in 1984) CONDITION REPORT Cosmetic: Good vintage condition; the bakelite body shows light signs of use and typical patina. The "Lubitel 166B" nameplate is clear and well-preserved. Optics: The lenses appear clear with minimal internal dust; the viewing screen is functional for composition. Mechanics: Shutter fires across various speeds; the geared focus mechanism and film advance transport appear to operate correctly. Test status: Sold as a collectible item; the camera has been visually and mechanically checked but has not been tested with film for light-tightness.
