Very finely engraved map by Joshua van den Ende. Title cartouche and decorative edges etched by Hessel Gerritsz. Almost all city views made by Braun and Hogenberg. This map has had influence on all later published decorated edge maps of France. The three decorated edges contain portraits of Henry IV, Mary de Medici and the dauphin Louis XIII. Six people in traditional costume and ten city views of Poitiers, Rouen, Orleans, Parijs, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Tours, Bourges and Angiers.
