Shizu Hamono - Küchenmesser - Petty Knife – 24-Karat-Goldbeschichtung - Stahl, Vergoldet - Japan - Apfel

This elegant “Pomme” petty knife was created by the long-established Japanese blade maker Shizu Hamono, founded in 1980 in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture — one of Japan’s most celebrated knife-making regions with over 700 years of blade-making history. Designed with a soft, flowing silhouette rather than the aggressive appearance of a conventional kitchen knife, the Pomme series was conceived to be comfortable and beautiful enough for everyday use directly at the dining table. The name “Pomme,” meaning “apple” in French, reflects its original concept: a refined knife perfect for peeling fruit, slicing cheese, bread, and performing delicate table-side preparation. Each knife is individually hand-finished by skilled craftsmen in Seki City. The blade is carefully engraved, smoked, sharpened, and completed by hand, giving every piece a unique expression and subtle antique-like character. The stainless steel blade is enhanced with a luxurious 24K gold-plated finish, creating a warm vintage appearance that stands apart from ordinary kitchen knives. Its slim and elegant shape fits comfortably in the hand, especially suited for precise tasks such as peeling vegetables and cutting small ingredients. Beyond functionality, the knife also serves as a beautiful tabletop utensil for cheese, bread, wine gatherings, and refined dining presentations. The knife combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern design aesthetics, making it both a practical culinary tool and a collectible design object.
