A Japanese Imari platter with a lobed wall and festooned rim, whose shape recalls a stylised chrysanthemum corolla. A similar item with inventory number 4085 is part of the famous Collezione Mosca in Pesaro, Italy. The Vittoria Mosca's Oriental Collection. The decoration includes a central chrysanthemum corolla, around which are depicted three flowering trees – a plum tree, a cherry tree and a camellia – alternating with iris, chrysanthemum and peony flowers, which wind together to form circular motifs. Branches of the aforementioned trees follow one another on the outer wall, and on the base is a mark depicting an orchid flower within a circular medallion defined by a thin blue line. The marks left by the firing pins are also visible on the base. Dimensions: 35.9cm diameter and 7.1 cm height Condition: Beautiful condition for its age.
