Hohe Schale auf Füßen - Töpferware - Vietnam - Later Lê Dynastie (1428–1788)

Tall Footed Bowl with Polychrome Enamel Decoration Vietnam, Lê dynasty, 15th–16th century A rare and elegant tall footed bowl decorated in vibrant polychrome enamels, representative of the refined ceramic production associated with the Vietnamese Lê dynasty. The exterior walls and high foot are outlined in iron red and enriched with green and yellow enamels, forming stylised floral and leafy sprays above jewelled lotus-petal borders. The flared interior rim is painted with a scrolling decorative band, while the well is ornamented with circles in iron red over underglaze-blue lines, typical of the Vietnamese polychrome wares of the period. The deeply recessed exterior foot area is covered with a brown wash, another feature associated with early Chu Đậu production. This bowl reflects the sophisticated craftsmanship of the famous Chu Đậu kilns of northern Vietnam, one of the leading ceramic centres of Southeast Asia during the 15th and 16th centuries. Chu Đậu wares were highly valued in both regional and international trade and are admired today for their elegant forms and distinctive combination of underglaze blue and overglaze enamel decoration.
