Vintage Military Shell Shaped Desk Lighter (ca. 1940–1950) – Functional
A massive mechanical desk lighter from the post-war period, made in the shape of a military artillery projectile. A special piece for collectors of thematic lighters or historical military objects.
Shell / Artillery Projectile type desk lighter.
Weight: Approximately 600 grams (solid metal structure, heavy and stable).
Period: C. 1940–1950.
Materials: Solid chrome-plated steel body, decorated at the base with protruding copper rings. The upper protective cap, collar and lower base are made of solid brass.
Mechanism: Classic petrol and flint ignition. The conical brass upper part is removable to reveal the ignition mechanism. The serrated base is provided with a screw for replacing the flint.
Aesthetics: Authentic vintage condition. The chrome metal body shows a clear patina of time, with traces of wear, tarnishing and historical oxidation that give it a true military character. The brass protective cover and decorative copper rings are intact and fit together perfectly, completing the ogive shape.
Operation: The lighter is tested and perfectly functional on the mechanical side (the toothed wheel rotates freely and produces a strong spark). It is not currently loaded with fuel for safety reasons during transport. It only requires the addition of standard gasoline for lighters to be ready for use
