Schale - 900er Silber - Silber - Indien - Britische Indien-Kompanie (1600 – 1858)
Indian silver bowl with very dense floral engraving, continuous plant motifs and repetitive friezes — quite typical of Indian silversmithing in cities such as Jaipur and Bombay/Mumbai. Contrast visible in the photos; most likely silver worked in northern India (or antique Indo-Islamic colonial silver). Indian silver offering bowl with repoussé traditional motifs, dating from at least the 19th to early 20th century, marked with silver marks. A very rare model with a fully worked underside. This antique bowl is often used for ceremonial purposes, such as presenting offerings to monks. Historically used in Buddhist ceremonies for blessings, health and prosperity, or as part of a home altar. The bowl, which is at least 100 years old, is in an exceptional, rare, beautiful and pristine condition. Diameter: 8.5 cm. Please see the photos.
