His father, a chemical engineer, moved to Milan just three months after his birth. In Milan, the young Vender pursued formal studies until he earned a diploma in textiles, which allowed him to take over the management of a silk factory specializing in fine fabrics and luxury goods. From the age of twelve, he dabbled in photography in his father's laboratory, acquiring considerable experience. Beginning in the 1930s, encouraged by the "Circolo Fotografico Milanese" (Milan Photographic Society), of which he remained artistic director until the postwar period, he began submitting his work to the most important events and competitions in both Europe and the United States, quickly achieving considerable success. He was present at all the major events in Italian photography. His personal friendships with photographers Giuseppe Cavalli, Mario Finazzi, and Ferruccio Leiss, his excellent relationship with his brothers, both architects, who provided him with valuable insights into avant-garde cultural events, the Milanese environment of the 1930s, rich in stimuli and progressive ideas, his travels with his trusty Plaubel Makina 6x9, in Alto Adige and abroad, especially in Austria, Germany, and Hungary, and the beloved Adriatic Sea, allowed him to develop his own dry, cheerful style, always of the highest formal quality. From the 1950s onwards, he became a professional photographer, working primarily for publishing houses and photography companies. In the mid-1960s, following a serious car accident, he retired to private life on the shores of Lake Garda, and ceased both his amateur and professional activities.
