Hand-thrown Japanese matcha tea bowl crafted by master potter Gan, traditional pink-flecked slip ground (Hikoshi/Pink Hikoshi) body with coarse rustic textured clay surface. Exterior decorated with vivid hand-painted overglaze clematis flowers in white, indigo purple with gilded golden leaves & curling vine scrolls, fine black outline defines each petal and foliage; interior features natural flowing ash glaze with irregular mottled marbling effect. Small circular impressed maker’s seal stamped near foot ring. Comes complete with hand-inscribed original paulownia tomobako, box inscribed “Pink Slip Clematis Painted Chawan, Made by Gan” plus artist’s red seal. Pristine unused mint condition without glaze chip, scratch or wear, elegant decorative functional Japanese tea ceremony ware.
