Zodiac is a respected Swiss watch name with roots in Le Locle, Switzerland, where the brand’s history began in 1882. This example carries the classic mid-century dress-watch proportions and design language: slim stainless steel case, small seconds, clean grey dial and warm gilt details. The watch is in very good overall condition and is currently working well. The 17 jewels manual-winding Zodiac movement has been serviced and runs properly. The movement is clean and signed Zodiac / Swiss / 17 jewels / unadjusted. The case is full stainless steel, approximately 34 mm excluding the crown. The caseback is signed Zodiac W. Ltd – Le Locle, Swiss, marked Acier Inoxydable, with reference/serial number 682 421. The case has not been externally polished after leaving the factory; the original factory brushing/polishing traces are still visible, which gives the watch a very honest vintage character. The dial has been professionally restored/refinished in a beautiful grey tone with gilt/gold-coloured details. The result is very elegant and suits the watch perfectly. The dial is in excellent visual condition and gives the watch a refined, dressy appearance. The watch is completed with a very fitting new old stock, all stainless steel, adjustable bracelet in the style of period Gay Frères bracelets. It is comfortable, period-correct in appearance and can be adjusted to fit different wrist sizes.
