木場紅園 Koba Koen (b1950) 花山窯 Kazan kiln, Kyo ware 'Iris, Zigzag Bridge over Water Tea Bowl' with Original Box (Tomobako)
The tea bowl by Koba Koen of the Kazan Kiln sets irises and a zigzag bridge across a flowing ground, the crisp red, blue, and green overglaze painting standing out against the pale body in a way that reflects his Kyoto‑yaki training under Miyagawa Kōun; the lively brushwork and balanced spacing give the classic motif a fresh clarity, and the seal “Koen” anchors the piece within his long practice of coloured‑glaze tea ware, all kept together with its tomobako.
