Vase - Töpferware - Japan - Samehada Haifischhaut-Glasur (Ohne mindestpreis)

This is a remarkable and highly collectible Japanese pottery vase, beautifully crafted in a traditional gourd (hyotan) shape—an auspicious form in Japan symbolizing good luck, prosperity, and protection against evil. The vase features a stunning, highly tactile Samehada (sharkskin) or Kairagi (crawled) type glaze. This intricate technique creates a dark, granulated texture that contrasts beautifully with the unglazed, natural tan clay beneath, which has been masterfully reserved to depict a striking motif of pine trees (matsu), a traditional symbol of longevity and endurance. About the Origin & Artist: Kiln/Style: Agano Kawara-ware (上野焼 香春焼). Originating from Tagawa District, Fukuoka Prefecture, this style beautifully blends the historical roots of Korean-influenced tea ceramics with the refined traditions of Agano ware. Artist: Yamaoka Tetsuzan (山岡徹山). The Tetsuzan Kiln is highly distinguished and deeply respected within the world of the Japanese Tea Ceremony (Chado). Renowned for its uncompromising commitment to traditional wood-fired climbing kilns (Noborigama) and hand-formulated natural glazes, the kiln's prestige is such that it was chosen to provide the authentic ceramic artwork for the internationally award-winning historical film "Ask This of Rikyu" (利休にたずねよ). Signatures & Authenticity: The vase itself bears the impressed "Kawara" (香春) seal near the foot. It comes complete with its original wooden storage box (Tomobako). The front of the lid is elegantly inscribed by hand with "Hanaike" (花瓶/Vase) and "Kawara-ware" (香春焼), complete with a seal. The back of the lid features the formal hand-written signature "Agano Kawara Tetsuzan-作" (Made by Tetsuzan) along with the artist's official red name seal, guaranteeing its absolute authenticity. Specifications: Condition: Excellent condition (barely used with minimal signs of wear). Dimensions (Vase): Height 16 cm / Width 13 cm / Depth 13 cm Weight: * Vase only: approx. 450 g Total weight (including the original wooden box): approx. 1,000 g (1 kg) Shipping Method: The item will be packed with the utmost care using professional cushioning materials to ensure safe transit. It will be shipped from Japan via an efficient, fully insured, and traceable international courier service (such as FedEx, DHL, or EMS).
