He ushered in the 'Pax Romana', a period of relative peace and prosperity that lasted for over two centuries. Augustus reorganised the Roman military, creating a standing army and establishing the Praetorian Guard to protect the Emperor. Augustus was skilled at using art, architecture, and literature to promote his image as a benevolent and divine ruler. He even commissioned works like Virgil's "Aeneid" to glorify Rome and his leadership. He promoted traditional Roman values and family life, passing legislation to encourage marriage and childbirth. These reforms aimed to strengthen the moral fabric of society. After his death, Augustus was deified by the Roman Senate.
