Dogma - Prima Jumbo - Ohne mindestpreis - 43885 - Herren - 1950-1959

Dogma Prima Jumbo 38mm - Manual Wind - 15 Jewels - 1950s Dogma Prima oversize manual-wind watch from the 1950s, measuring a generous ~38mm across the case. Gold-plated bezel and lugs over a stainless steel back, fitted with a Swiss 15-jewel hand-wound movement signed Dogma, with a two-tone silvered dial and rose-gold Breguet numerals. The defining feature here is size. Most Swiss dress watches of the 1950s were built at 33–35mm, sized for the wrist of the era. A ~38mm case from this period is a genuine oversize ("jumbo") piece, and it wears like a modern watch rather than a small vintage one — the reason oversize 1950s references are one of the more sought corners of mid-century collecting. Dogma, a Swiss house from La Chaux-de-Fonds, built the Prima line around antimagnetic 15-jewel calibres, and this example pairs that movement with the period's two-tone sector-style dial and a sweep centre seconds. - Case: ~38mm across the case (oversize / jumbo), gold-plated bezel and lugs, stainless steel back - Movement: Manual wind, 15 jewels, signed Dogma (Swiss) - Dial: Two-tone silvered, applied rose-gold numerals, centre seconds - Crystal: Acrylic - Strap: Aftermarket black leather (18mm lugs) - Functions: Hours, minutes, centre seconds - Water resistance: Untested for current vintage seal - Year: 1950s The movement winds, runs and sets correctly over a 24-hour test. Condition is honest vintage: the dial shows age spotting and foxing across the centre and lower half, the gold plating has brassed on the bezel edges and lug tops with some verdigris spots, the acrylic crystal carries light scratches, and the leather strap is worn at the lugs. Oversize 1950s Swiss watches in this ~38mm range, on a steel back and in running order, are noticeably harder to find than the standard 34mm dress watches of the period — and far more wearable today. From a private collection. No box or papers. Shipped fully insured, tracked, and signature-required worldwide.
