Zenith - Captain – Cal. 133.8 Bumper – Original Black Dial - Ohne mindestpreis - Herren - 1961

Rare Vintage Zenith Captain Automatic – Cal. 133.8 Bumper – Original Black Dial with Beautiful Patina – Circa Late 1950 A rare and highly attractive vintage Zenith Captain Automatic, fitted with the renowned Zenith manufacture calibre 133.8 bumper automatic movement. This is a beautiful and uncommon example of Zenith’s early automatic production, dating from the 1961. The watch features a stainless steel case, an original black dial, applied hour markers, central seconds and the elegant “Captain” signature on the dial. The dial is original and unrestored, showing a superb natural vintage patina. The black surface has aged beautifully over time, with fine speckling and warm oxidation that gives the watch a unique character and collector appeal. This is exactly the kind of honest, untouched ageing that makes vintage watches so desirable. The applied Zenith star logo, applied indexes and original-style hands remain very charming and create a strong vintage presence. Inside is the famous Zenith calibre 133.8, a high-quality in-house bumper automatic movement with 20 jewels. This calibre is highly regarded among collectors and represents an important period in Zenith’s history, before the later full-rotor automatic movements became standard. The movement is signed “Zenith”, “20 Jewels”, “Swiss Made” and is numbered 5330287. The stainless steel case is in very good vintage condition, with slightly visible signs of age and use consistent with a watch of this period The caseback is signed Zenith and marked “Swiss Made” and “Acier Inoxydable”. The watch is fitted with a black leather strap. This is a rare and unusual Zenith Captain model, especially attractive thanks to its original black dial and beautiful natural patina. A very elegant and collectible vintage Zenith with strong wrist presence.
