One man sits upright, holding a slice of watermelon above the other man's face. The juice runs from the fruit in a slow red line, falling toward the open mouth below. His hand is steady. His eyes are fixed on the lips that wait. The gesture is not about feeding. It is about watching someone receive. The second man lies back, his body stretched across the sheet, open and unguarded. His head rests against the other man's thigh. His mouth is parted, his chin wet with juice that has already fallen. He does not reach up. He does not need to. He trusts the hand above him to give him exactly what he wants. Around them, the remains of an afternoon that asked for nothing: a bottle of wine nearly empty, a glass on its side, a plate of watermelon slices with seeds scattered on the white fabric. Their clothes are piled against the railing, tangled together in a way that makes it impossible to tell whose is whose.
