Großer antiker Imari-Exportteller aus dem 18. Jahrhundert der Qianlong-Zeit – Pfingstrosen und Laub - Porzellan - China - Qianlong (1736-1795)
This impressive 18th-century Chinese export porcelain plate is a fine example of the Imari style, produced during the Qianlong era (1736–1795).
Measuring 26 cm, it is larger than standard saucer dishes, giving the detailed hand-painted design a grander presence.
Central Motif: The design features a classic "asymmetrical garden" scene. Large, lush peonies (symbols of wealth and status) are rendered in vibrant iron-red and gold, growing alongside a decorative zigzag garden fence painted in deep cobalt blue.
Botanical Detail: To the left, a tall, stylized tree with broad, fan-like leaves in blue and red adds height and drama to the composition.
The Palette: The plate uses the traditional "three-color" Imari palette: rich underglaze cobalt blue, brilliant overglaze iron-red, and elegant gold (gilt) highlights that catch the light and emphasize the floral details.
This 18th-century piece is in honest antique condition, featuring a rim crack and a chip that attest to its long history. While it shows minor surface wear consistent with its venerable age, the plate remains structurally sound. It displays beautifully—especially on its stand (the stand is not part of the purchase) —and retains the vibrant charm of authentic period porcelain.
Era: Qianlong Period, Qing Dynasty (c. 1736–1795).
Style: Chinese Imari (Garden & Fence).
Diameter: 26 cm.
