Stunning and rare Loewe Opta Optacord 408 portable open-reel tape recorder, an excellent piece of German audio engineering from the late 1960s. This iconic "suitcase style" model combines the great reliability of Loewe Opta's solid-state transistor circuitry with a compact industrial design, featuring a beautiful chrome front grille and a sturdy metal carrying handle. A true collector's item for analogue audio and vintage tech enthusiasts.
Condition Report:
Working condition: The device has been fully tested and is perfectly working. The motor runs strong, the mechanical keys respond correctly, and the playback/rewind functions are operative. It comes complete with the two reels shown in the pictures (including one tape).
Cosmetic condition: The recorder is in very good overall vintage condition, well-preserved and clean. The front chrome grille and the "Loewe Opta" / "Optacord 408" lettering are bright and intact. Only minor, normal signs of age and light handling are present on the outer casing, fully consistent with its history.
