Case – Circa 1888 ​Description ​An exquisite, late 19th-century American pocket watch crafted by the renowned Elgin National Watch Company. This timepiece is a beautiful example of classic American horology, featuring a highly decorated movement and a wonderfully preserved, ornate case. ​Dial & Hands ​Dial: Pristine white enamel dial signed with the elegant script "Elgin Natl. Watch Co. ​Numerals: Classic crisp black Roman numerals with a dedicated outer track for minutes. ​Sub-dial: Recessed small seconds sub-dial located at the 6 o'clock position. ​Hands: Elegant, classic blued steel spade hands ​Movement & Technical Details ​Manufacturer: Elgin National Watch Co. (Elgin, Illinois) ​Serial Number: 3073285 (clearly visible on the movement plate in dating its production to approximately 1888. ​Features: Features a "Safety Pinion" mechanism and a stunningly engraved balance cock. ​Aesthetics: The gilded movement is beautifully adorned with vivid, original blued screws, showing excellent preservation ​Patents: Marked with "PATD DEC 76" near the rim ​Case ​Manufacturer: C.W.C.
