An attractive certified example of one of the most emblematic early coins of modern Greece. Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias, 10 Lepta 1830, Type B.2, struck at the historic Aegina Mint. The obverse features the large Phoenix rising from the flames, surrounded by a pearl circle, symbolising the rebirth of the newly established Greek state. The reverse displays the denomination “10 ΛΕΠΤΑ”, the date 1830 and a surrounding wreath. This specimen has been attributed to the exact Peter Chase die variety 313-AE.ad and is certified by NGC with a straight numerical grade of VF30 BN, without any Details or problem designation.
