Created in 2015, this signed lithograph by Shepard Fairey—better known as OBEY—was designed in response to the tragic Paris terrorist attacks of November that year. Fairey reinterprets the French Republic’s timeless motto, “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity,” turning it into a bold, graphic statement of unity, resilience, and hope.

With his trademark style inspired by vintage propaganda posters, Fairey combines powerful imagery with social commentary. The work became a symbol of solidarity and was widely displayed in Paris and beyond, reminding people of the strength found in shared values.
