Wikingerzeit Bronze Gedrehter Ring, 9. bis 11. Jahrhundert n. Chr. — Ein Symbol für Stärke, Einheit und Ewigkeit - 20 mm (Ohne mindestpreis)

An authentic massive bronze ring from the Viking Age, dating to the 9th–11th century AD. This impressive piece reflects the bold simplicity and powerful aesthetics of Scandinavian craftsmanship, where personal ornaments carried both decorative and symbolic meaning. The ring is cast in bronze and decorated with a pronounced twisted spiral pattern extending around most of its circumference. This rope-like design is one of the most recognizable motifs of Viking jewelry, representing continuity, strength and the unbroken cycle of life. Its sculptural form gives the piece a striking visual presence despite its understated elegance. With its substantial weight and robust profile, this ring stands out among ordinary examples. Over more than a thousand years, the bronze has developed a rich natural archaeological patina in shades of green and dark olive, preserving the authentic surface without restoration or modern cleaning. Twisted rings of this type were worn throughout Scandinavia, the lands of Kyivan Rus and the vast Viking trade routes. They served not only as personal ornaments but also as visible expressions of wealth, loyalty and social standing. Larger examples such as this are considerably scarcer than lighter everyday rings and remain highly desirable among collectors of Viking antiquities. Details Culture: Viking Scandinavia Material: Bronze Type: Twisted Ring Period: 9th–11th Century AD Inner Diameter: 20 mm Weight: 8.35 g Condition: Authentic archaeological artifact. Natural untouched patina. No restoration. No modern cleaning. Provenance: Acquired on the European antiquities market. From a private collection. Shipping: European Union shipping only. Legend According to Norse tradition, the thread of fate could never be broken by one who remained true to their word. The twisted pattern symbolized the endless paths of life, where past, present and future were woven together. Such a ring represented honour, loyalty and an unbreakable oath. Worn every day, it served as a reminder that true strength is forged through courage, faithfulness and the bonds that unite generations.
