Mittelalterlich Bronze Apotropäisches Amulett mit konzentrischer Punktdekoration (Ohne mindestpreis)

An intriguing medieval bronze amulet of circular form, pierced for suspension and decorated with a carefully arranged series of concentric ring-and-dot motifs surrounding a central perforation. The composition creates a striking geometric design that is characteristic of medieval symbolic ornament and may have served an apotropaic (protective) purpose. The reverse is plain, while the upper perforation allowed the piece to be suspended and worn around the neck. The repeated ring-and-dot decoration is a long-established decorative and symbolic motif found throughout medieval Europe on personal ornaments, devotional objects, and protective pendants. Such motifs were often associated with safeguarding the wearer from misfortune or the "evil eye." The amulet displays an attractive dark brown archaeological patina with well-preserved surfaces and crisp punched decoration. Its simple yet deliberate design reflects the medieval preference for symbolic geometry over figurative imagery. Culture: Medieval Europe Date: ca. 11th–13th century AD Material: Bronze Type: Possible apotropaic amulet / pendant Decoration: Concentric ring-and-dot motifs surrounding a central perforation Condition: Very good archaeological condition with an attractive original patina, intact suspension hole, and minor wear consistent with age. A fascinating example of medieval wearable symbolism, combining geometric decoration with possible protective significance. An excellent addition to any collection of medieval antiquities or ancient personal ornaments.
