Untertasse (2) - Porzellan - Untertassen aus der Jiaqing-Periode
A beautiful pair of Chinese famille rose porcelain saucers dating to the Jiaqing period (1796–1820). Each saucer is delicately hand-painted with an elegant long-tailed bird perched among flowering branches, peonies, fruit and a variety of butterflies and insects. The finely balanced compositions and vibrant enamels create lively scenes celebrating the beauty of nature.
The peony, long regarded as a symbol of prosperity and honour, is combined with birds, butterflies and flowering branches to form an auspicious decoration expressing harmony, happiness and abundance. The meticulous brushwork and delicate enamel colours reflect the refined craftsmanship of the Jiaqing period.
These saucers display beautifully and are an attractive addition to any collection of antique Chinese porcelain.
Dimensions: Diameter: 16 cm each.
Condition: Sold as a pair. One saucer has two visible hairlines. The other has a hairline secured with two original antique metal staple repairs, a traditional historical restoration. Both saucers also have minor rim chips and expected age-related wear. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
