Frühes Mittelalter Bronze Alter frühmittelalterlicher Ring mit linearem symbolischem Motiv, 6. bis 9. Jahrhundert n. Chr. (Ohne mindestpreis)

Ancient Early Medieval Ring with Linear Symbolic Motif 6th-9th century Ad An intriguing and authentic Early Medieval bronze ring, dating to approximately the 6th–9th century AD, featuring a distinctive engraved design and a beautiful natural patina. The ring is formed with an oval bezel engraved with a series of closely spaced vertical and horizontal incised lines, creating a geometric, grid-like motif. Linear and abstract designs of this type were widely used during the Early Medieval period, when simple symbolic patterns often appeared on personal jewellery and everyday objects. Such motifs may have held decorative, protective, religious, or personal significance, although their precise meaning is now difficult to determine. The ring may have served as a personal marker, a symbolic ornament, or a protective talismanic object. Its restrained and minimalist design reflects the visual language of Early Medieval jewellery, in which geometric patterns frequently replaced more elaborate figural imagery. The surface displays a particularly attractive rich green patina, developed naturally over centuries of burial, with subtle variations in tone that enhance the visual depth and archaeological character of the piece. The engraved lines remain crisp and well defined, indicating careful workmanship. Important notice: This ring is offered as an ancient artefact. While it may be worn, frequent or prolonged wear may gradually affect or wear away the patina, especially in areas that come into direct contact with the skin. Details: Material: Bronze Culture: Early Medieval Date: c. 6th–9th century AD Ring size: approx. M/N Inner diameter: approx. 17.7 mm Condition: Very good for age; original green patina with age-related wear A visually striking Early Medieval ring with a strong archaeological presence, ideal for collectors of ancient jewellery or those drawn to symbolic, geometric, and minimalist historical designs. ***** Dear bidders, please note that we do not ship to IRELAND the UK, UAE, or to countries outside the European Union.
