Sassanidenreich. Sasanian Dynasty Khosrow II Silver Coin. 1. Drachm (Ohne mindestpreis)

This is a Sasanian Persian drachma coin of Khuzrou II, graded and encapsulated by GBCA. Date and Origin: 591–628 AD, Sasanian Dynasty silver coin, monarch Khuzrou II; Condition Grade: AU53, representing near uncirculated condition. The coin shows slight wear from circulation, and the core designs, including the portrait and altar, are intact and clear; Dimensions and Weight: Diameter 31.8 mm, thickness 0.8 mm, weight 4.1 g, a standard circulating Sasanian drachma silver coin; Historical Background: A silver coin of the ancient Sasanian Dynasty, minted between 6 and 7 AD. The Sasanian coin, minted in the 16th century, was a core trade currency along the ancient Silk Road, circulating extensively in Central Asia and the Western Regions of my country. Its production process involved hand-hammering and pressing, resulting in a relatively thin silver blank and a naturally handcrafted, near-circular outline. Obverse: The main design features a profile portrait of Khosrow II, wearing the iconic Sasanian winged crown. The crown's decorative patterns, facial features, and beard are clearly defined and three-dimensional. Multiple beaded borders divide the area, with Zoroastrian symbols of stars and crescents at the four corners, symbolizing the fusion of royal power and Persian religious beliefs. Reverse: The central motif is a Zoroastrian fire altar, flanked by two symmetrically standing priestly attendants—a standard design for Sasanian coins. The outer border is also divided by beaded borders, with symmetrically distributed stars and crescent symbols, fully embodying the core culture of ancient Persian Zoroastrianism.
