Elegantes und seltenes Ensemble aus dem Salon, bestehend aus zwei armlehnigen Sesseln und einem Gesprächsstuhl Typ conversation chair oder chaise de confidence, gefertigt aus hellem Nussbaumholz in der ersten Hälfte des XIX Jahrhunderts. Das Ensemble spiegelt perfekt den geschmackvollen Stil der Restaurationszeit/Charles X wider, charakterisiert durch weiche Linien, harmonische Proportionen und eine schlichte borghese Eleganz.

Die beiden Sessel weisen eine leicht konkave Rückenlehne, gebogenen Armlehnen und eine breite, einladende Sitzfläche auf; der zentrale „conversation“-Stuhl mit nach hinten gerichteter, gepolsterter Rückenlehne war dafür gedacht, eine informelle Position während der Konversation in aristokratischen und bourgeoisen Salons des XIX. Jahrhunderts zu ermöglichen. Dieses Modell, selten und sehr dekorativ, ist heute besonders begehrt im Interior Design und in europäischen Antiquitätensammlungen.

Die Gestelle zeigen eine schöne warme Patina des alten Nussbaums, mit deutlich sichtbaren Maserungen. Sitzflächen und Rückenlehnen sind mit einem Blumenstoff in Rosé- und Pflaumentönen bezogen, der bewusst eklektisch und teatrale Anklänge hat und einen interessanten Kontrast zwischen dem ottoklassizistischen Stil und zeitgenössischer Décor-Sensibilität schafft.

Elegant salon set with two armchairs and a conversation chair – France/Italy, Restoration / Charles X period, 19th century

Refined and unusual antique salon set composed of two armchairs and one conversation chair (also known as chaise de confidence), crafted in solid walnut during the first half of the 19th century. The ensemble beautifully reflects the elegant taste of the Restoration / Charles X period, characterized by graceful curves, balanced proportions, and understated sophistication.

The two armchairs feature gently curved backrests, elegant open arm supports, and generously upholstered seats. The central conversation chair, with its reversed upholstered crest rail, was specifically designed to allow intimate and informal conversation in aristocratic and bourgeois salons of the 19th century. This rare and highly decorative model is now especially appreciated by collectors and interior designers.

The walnut frames display a beautiful warm antique patina with visible natural grain. The seats and backrests have been upholstered in a floral pink and plum fabric, creating an eclectic and theatrical contrast between 19th-century classicism and contemporary decorative taste.
