Vintage Japanese Ko-Deba & Small Kitchen Knife Set of 5 – Traditional Wooden Handles, Signed Blades Item Description A charming set of five vintage Japanese small kitchen knives, including Ko-Deba-style knives, each featuring a traditional wooden handle. The five knives vary in blade shape and size, making this an appealing assortment that reflects the practical diversity of traditional Japanese kitchen cutlery. Several blades bear Japanese engraved inscriptions and/or maker’s marks, adding character and interest to the set. As the inscriptions are not entirely clear from the photographs, no specific maker attribution is guaranteed. These are vintage, pre-owned knives and show age-related wear, scratches, discoloration, patina, oxidation, staining, sharpening marks, and general signs of use. The wooden handles likewise show wear and aging. Please examine the photographs carefully for the individual condition of each knife. Please note that these knives are offered as vintage items intended on the understanding that maintenance, cleaning, sharpening, rust treatment, handle care, or other restoration may be required before practical use. Their present sharpness and immediate usability are not guaranteed. We kindly ask bidders to purchase with this in mind. The measurements shown are based on the largest knife in the set. Please also refer to the photographs with the measuring tape for the dimensions of the individual knives. Minor measurement variations should be expected and kindly accepted. An attractive collection for enthusiasts of traditional Japanese kitchen knives, vintage culinary tools, or Japanese craftsmanship. Size Maximum size: Please refer to the stated measurements and photographs with the measuring tape. Individual sizes: Please refer to the photographs. Please allow for minor measurement errors. Weight Total weight: Please refer to the stated weight for the complete set of five knives. Artist / Maker Profile Several knives have engraved Japanese inscriptions and/or maker’s marks on the blades. However, the inscriptions cannot be identified with sufficient certainty from the available photographs; therefore, no definitive maker attribution is made. Shipping Information We will ship from Japan with a tracking number. Depending on the destination country and the international postal situation, we will use Japan Post, Japan Post UGX, DHL, or Yamato Transport (UPS). As of July 24, 2026, Japan Post has temporarily suspended acceptance of some IOSS shipments. Therefore, alternative delivery services such as Japan Post UGX or Yamato Transport (UPS) may be used when necessary. As a result, shipping costs to some destinations may be set slightly higher than usual in order to maintain reliable delivery. Thank you for your understanding. The usual estimated delivery time is approximately 1–2 weeks, although delays may occur depending on customs clearance and local delivery conditions. Any import duties, VAT, customs clearance fees, or other charges incurred in the destination country are the responsibility of the buyer. The item will be carefully packed to ensure safe delivery. For environmental reasons, recycled cardboard boxes and reused packing materials may be used. Where safety can be ensured, lightweight packaging may also be used to help reduce shipping costs. Due to the current impact on international postal services in the Middle East, Japan Post shipments to Cyprus are presently suspended. In addition, Yamato Transport does not accept bladed items for shipment to Cyprus. Therefore, shipments of this knife set to Cyprus will be made by DHL only. As this requires an individual DHL shipment, the shipping cost to Cyprus is considerably higher. We sincerely appreciate your understanding regarding the higher shipping charge. Please refer to the shipping rate table for each country. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
