The Nikon Nikonos IV-A (1980) belongs to the legendary Nikonos line — the amphibious cameras that defined underwater photography for decades and were carried by scientists, divers and photojournalists alike. Sealed against water to considerable depth without any housing, it is equally at home in rain, surf and dust on land. Offered here with the Nikkor 35mm f/2.5, the standard lens of the system, usable both above and below the surface. Important — please read carefully: Please read carefully. The light meter does not appear to work correctly, so the aperture-priority automatic exposure cannot be relied upon; the mechanical M90 (1/90s) and Bulb settings do work, and the camera can be used on that basis. There is also haze inside the lens. Very important: we have not inspected or replaced the O-rings and waterproof seals, and we cannot warrant this camera as watertight.
