The watch is attributed to Mojon & Montandon and features a traditional key-wound mechanical movement. The silver case carries English hallmarks which, according to the original information supplied with the watch, date the piece to 1882. The watch has a particularly attractive white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers, minute track and delicate multicoloured floral decoration to the centre. The outer section of the dial is richly decorated with black and gold ornamental detailing. The case itself is beautifully decorated with engraved / engine-turned detailing around the exterior, giving the watch the characteristic appearance of a quality Victorian pocket watch. The mechanical movement is visible in the photographs and displays traditional gilt components, ruby-coloured jewels and a regulator. A winding key is included with the watch.
