Longines - Flagship - Ohne mindestpreis - 8401-4 Calibre 320 - Damen - 1950-1959
Introduction
Presented here is an elegant vintage Longines Flagship, reference 8401-4, powered by the Longines Calibre 320 manual-winding movement.
The watch features a compact square cushion-style stainless-steel case, a silver-tone dial, applied baton hour markers and the distinctive scripted “Flagship” signature.
Its refined proportions and simple two-hand display give it the understated elegance associated with classic Swiss ladies' dress watches. The black leather strap has been replaced with a new strap, allowing the watch to be enjoyed immediately.
Historical & Collector Value
The Longines Flagship collection was introduced in 1957 and became one of the brand's important historic collections.
This example is especially interesting for collectors because both the movement and the inside of the case back retain clearly identifiable Longines markings.
The movement is signed:
LONGINES – 17 JEWELS – SWISS
and carries the calibre marking 320, identifying it as the Longines Calibre 320, a compact hand-wound mechanical movement used in vintage ladies' watches.
The inside of the case back is signed:
LONGINES
FAB. SUISSE
SWISS MADE
ACIER INOXYDABLE
8401 4
confirming the stainless-steel construction and case reference 8401-4.
The combination of the signed Longines movement, clearly marked case reference and Flagship dial gives this watch strong appeal for collectors of vintage Longines and classic ladies' mechanical watches.
