higher production economy and 100 m water resistance. It became one of Seiko's most successful everyday sports chronographs and appeared in numerous domestic Japanese and export models. Y182 belonged to Seiko's second generation of analog quartz chronographs introduced during the early 1990s.
It became one of Seiko's most successful everyday sports chronographs and appeared in numerous domestic Japanese and export models.
Its styling with three recessed sub dials, black tachymeter bezel and 100 m water resistance was strongly influenced by professional racing chronographs of the late 1980s.
The watch retains its original Seiko bracelet and clasp, clean movement free from corrosion, factory case back reset sticker, strong luminous performance, and excellent overall originality. Fresh battery installed and running accurately. An increasingly collectible early-1990s Seiko sports chronograph that combines robust Japanese engineering with classic motorsport-inspired styling.

■Third party’s comment/evaluation of the photos of the watch/inside caliver/luminous dial
(A)Overall Exterior: Rating: 9.0 / 10
Positive points:✓ Original bezel ✓ Original black dial ✓ Original luminous hands ✓ Original sub dial hands ✓ Original bracelet ✓ Original Seiko clasp ✓ Case appears unpolished. The brushed and polished transitions on the lugs remain crisp, indicating it has not undergone excessive refinishing.
(B)Dial Rating: 9.5 / 10
Excellent observations: no visible moisture damage/no dial discoloration/printing remains very sharp/clean chapter ring/date window aligned correctly/sub dial rings remain deep black The dial is one of the nicest aspects of this watch.
(C)Lume: Rating: 9.5/10: Your Lume photo is surprisingly good. The luminous material: still glows evenly /hour plots illuminate uniformly/hands glow brighter than the indexes (normal for Seiko) Considering the watch is about 35 years old, this is excellent.
(D)Bezel Condition: Very good. Only minor edge wear. The printed numerals remain crisp.
No fading visibility.
(E)Crystal: Only a few light surface scratches are visible. No chips. No cracks. Would benefit from a professional polish if desired.
(F)Bracelet: Original private-market Seiko bracelet. Very little stretch. Clasp still closes correctly.
This is a valuable feature because many Y182s have lost their original bracelets.
(G)Movement Evaluation: Rating: 9.3 / 10: The inside photograph shows:Very clean movement/No battery leakage. /No corrosion. /No oxide around battery contacts. /No rust. /
No damaged coil. /No signs of amateur repair. /The movement bridge remains clean and uniform.
That indicates the watch has likely spent most of its life in dry conditions.
(H)Battery Compartment: Excellent. Battery clamp remains bright. Contact spring shows no oxidation. Plastic Movement Holder Still white/grey. No yellowing. No cracks. Another indicator of careful ownership.
(H)Case Interior: The inside of the back case is unusually clean. Factory reset stickers are still present. Many examples have already lost this sticker. Collectors appreciate this.
(I)Caseback: The engraving remains readable. Minor normal opening scratches only.
No deep tool damage. This suggests careful service.
Collector Score
Category Score: Originality:9.5 Dial:9.5 Case:9.0 Movement:9.3 Bracelet: 9.0 Lume:9.5
Collectibility:8.8
Overall Rating: 9.3 / 10 (Excellent Collector Grade)
Final Opinion: Among the vintage quartz watches you've shown me recently—including the 7N43, Type II, Silver Wave, and Chronos—this Y182-6F00 stands out as one of the strongest examples from a condition standpoint. The highlights are: Exceptional dial preservation/Very clean, corrosion-free movement/Original bracelet and clasp/Strong remaining Lume/Minimal case wear with no signs of heavy polishing/Factory AC-reset sticker still intact inside the case back
For collectors of early Seiko quartz chronographs, I would consider this an excellent original example that is attractive both as a daily wearer and as a collectible piece from Seiko's early-1990s sports chronograph lineup.
