This impressive antique mahogany secretaire bureau-cabinet combines storage, display and writing functions in a highly decorative form. The upper section features a large fitted compartment with architectural arched niches, small drawers and original-style glazing/display areas, while the lower section contains multiple drawers and a substantial fall-front writing surface. The rich mahogany veneer has attractive figuring and warm reddish-brown tones, complemented by turned columns, mouldings and brass fittings. The piece appears to date approximately to the mid-19th century, around 1840–1870, although construction details should be examined to establish its exact origin. Its unusual interior makes it particularly attractive to collectors. Pick up Turin Italy Generally in good condition with visibile signs of agings as shown
