An antique Villeroy & Boch majolica relief asparagus platter of late 19th to early 20th-century. This oval majolica serving platter features an elegant molded high-relief design depicting bundles of white asparagus spears layered across the center. The underside displays the crisp, authentic black ink backstamp featuring the head of Mercury, two caducei, and a scroll reading "VILLEROY & BOCH / METTLACH". This specific stamp securely dates the manufacturing period of this platter to between 1874 and 1909. Excellent antique condition given its age of over 115+ years. No structural cracks, major breaks, or deep chips.Glaze: Features beautiful, consistent all-over fine glaze crazing (visible in photos), which is completely standard and highly desirable for authentic antique majolica of this period.
