Overview An early Seiko Lord Matic from December 1968, the first year of the LM line, made by the Suwa Seikosha factory. The silver satin dial carries applied bar indices (a double bar at 12), the LORD MATIC / 25 JEWELS signature with the Suwa symbol, and a day-date window at 3 o'clock with kanji (Japanese) day wheel (Sunday in red). The faceted stainless steel case is a one-piece (monocoque) design — the case back is marked OPEN THRU GLASS — in a wearable 35 mm mid-size that suits smaller wrists as well. On its original Seiko beads-of-rice style bracelet. Powered by the Seiko 5606 automatic movement with 25 jewels. The crystal shows thin diagonal scratch lines crossing the surface, visible in several photos (the main wear point). The case has fine scratches overall, with a small brown soiling/rust spot near the 12 o'clock lug. The bracelet links show numerous light scratches with small brown rust-like spots in the gaps and on the underside (most noticeable near the clasp), and the clasp surface has hairline marks. The dial shows only faint minor soiling and the hands are clean. The watch would benefit from a clean. Please refer to the photos, which form part of the condition description. Working order The watch is in working order (running at the time of listing). Accuracy and water resistance have not been professionally tested or guaranteed; as with any vintage automatic watch, a service may be needed for long-term reliability.
