Upholstered Bench – Iroko & Maple A handcrafted upholstered bench combining the warm character of Iroko wood, the lighter natural tones of Maple, and a clean white 100% cotton upholstery fabric. The wooden frame is made from carefully selected solid wood. The side rails and stretchers are crafted from Iroko, while the legs are made from solid Maple, creating a natural contrast between the two wood species. The seat is upholstered in 100% cotton white fabric, chosen for its natural texture, soft appearance, and timeless character. Its neutral tone allows the wood grain and contrasting colors of the Iroko and Maple to remain the main visual feature of the piece. This bench was designed to emphasize the beauty of natural materials and simple proportions. The warm brown tones and distinctive grain of Iroko contrast beautifully with the lighter Maple legs and the clean white upholstery. Traditional woodworking techniques were used throughout the construction. The legs are connected to the frame using traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, providing both strength and a clean appearance without distracting from the natural character of the wood. Each piece of solid wood has its own grain, color variations and natural characteristics, making every bench slightly different and therefore unique. The bench works equally well as an entryway bench, bedroom bench, hallway seat, or an accent piece in a living space. And while photographs can show its proportions and materials, the natural grain, texture and contrast of the different woods are best appreciated in person.
